Our Honey

Little Wing's wildflower honey has a unique and complex flavor profile derived from the pollenating flora indigenous to the Lowcountry of South Carolina. Each jar of honey is a testament to both the bees' tireless dedication and the artistry of our beekeepers.

Our Bees

Our bees are bred to deliver the highest standards in temperament, disease resistance, low swarming tendency and excellent honey production. Over the years we have found that the right balance of proper genetic traits has helped us to raise queens & bees that are well suited to the local environment.

Our Apiary

The Little Wing hives are actually located right here in Charleston, SC and surrounding areas. That’s important to us, and to the local economy we support. Our core mission is to inspire and educate the Charleston community about the importance of pollinators and to produce superior honey and bees.

Meet Dr. Tim

Master of his bee domain,
Hustler of Hives

There is a beautiful, old oak tree next door to our house where I spotted honey bees coming and going from a cavity in the tree.  One warm, spring day I witnessed the colony swarm and I was hooked!  I became obsessed with these fascinating creatures and read everything I could possibly get my hands on about the science and art of beekeeping.

This eventually led to becoming certified as a Master Beekeeper by the Eastern Apicultural Society, the South Carolina Beekeeping Association and The Cornell University Master Beekeeper Certification Program.

It is a privilege to bee in the company of such amazing creatures.  We could learn so much as a society by how they live their lives! There are so many things about it that make it fulfilling."
